Washington monument

As I look up I see the tallest freestanding stone structure at 555 ft. They’re doesn’t seem to be any ugly perspectives of the massive rock. Since the landmark was built in 1884 it has been thought many earthquakes and hurricanes, one of the largest occurring in 1897 at a 5.9 shake. In 1999, the city was flooding and the stairwells/elevators where filled with puddles inside the monument. The building is currently being repaired this summer, for now it’s only a stunning view from below
